On Starting

It has long been a dream of mine to open a jewelry business. I hadn’t really planned to launch Seafoam & Gold this soon though. I had assumed I would wait until I was more established, more stable…. just generally more. But this year has been a strange one, and my predictable routines ended up being scattered to the wind. I found myself facing more uncertainty than ever before, and decided to embrace the turbulence and take a chance on creating something.

The ocean has always been a source of wonder for me. Having grown up in Northern California, some of my favorite memories are of time spent on the coast chasing waves and finding treasures in tide pools. In a strange way, the sea offers comfort and strength. I like knowing that whatever is going on in my own life, there are still waves crashing against a shore somewhere, jellyfish drifting along and kelp reaching for the sun. I hope wearing Seafoam & Gold jewelry gives you a little piece of that beauty to cary with you throughout the day.

I’m beyond excited to share my jewelry with the world. Starting a business feels like a leap into the unknown, but it’s an exhilarating leap. I’m learning to stop waiting for the right moment and just start creating.
